Police claim breakthrough after arresting five suspects linked to a robbery and murder incident in Shahzad Town.
ISLAMABAD: Police have made a major breakthrough in a recent robbery and murder case reported in the Shahzad Town area, arresting five young suspects allegedly involved in the incident, according to police sources.
Officials said the arrests were made following a technical investigation in which fingerprints collected from the crime scene played a key role in identifying the suspects. The arrested individuals are reportedly aged between 20 and 21 years.
Police sources added that weapons used in the incident were also recovered during the operation. Investigators further claimed that the suspects had previously spent time in jail in unrelated cases, raising concerns about repeat criminal activity among young offenders.
According to officials, three of the arrested suspects have been identified as the main accused in the case. Their names were given as Mansoor, Umair, and Atiqullah. Authorities say these individuals are believed to have played a central role in planning and executing the crime.
The incident, which occurred late last night, involved both robbery and the killing of a victim, prompting a swift police response and intensified investigation efforts in the area.
Law enforcement agencies said they are continuing interrogation and evidence collection to determine whether the suspects are linked to any other criminal activities in the city.
Police officials described the arrests as an important step toward resolving the case and ensuring accountability.
