Gunmen open fire on NADRA office in Bukakhel; police launch district‑wide search operation
Bannu: A deadly armed attack struck the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Bukakhel early today when unidentified gunmen opened fire on the facility, killing two security officers on duty, police said.
Constables Rafiullah of Sub‑Division Wazir and Gul Shah Noor were martyred in the attack, according to police officials. The assailants fled before law enforcement reinforcements could contain the scene.
Police quickly cordoned off the area after receiving reports of the shooting and launched initial investigations. The bodies of the two fallen security personnel were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu for autopsy.
Today’s assault comes on the heels of another deadly incident in the district this morning, where gunmen shot and killed Police Constable Sher Muhammad at the Meryan Kinger Police Station, authorities confirmed.
With three security officers killed in separate attacks today, local law enforcement has intensified security measures across Bannu. Police have initiated a district‑wide search operation, including checkpoints and targeted patrols, to track the perpetrators and prevent further violence.
Officials urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities as the investigation continues.
