ISLAMABAD: Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan held a one-hour meeting with his lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar at Adiala Jail following orders from the Islamabad High Court.
After the meeting, Salman Safdar left without speaking to the media. However, sources revealed that Imran Khan conveyed an important message to the party leadership through his lawyer, directing the cancellation of a planned public rally.
According to sources, the decision was influenced by ongoing diplomatic developments, particularly the US-Iran negotiations. Imran Khan was reportedly aware of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts on the global stage and advised avoiding political activity that could impact the situation.
Sources added that the PTI political committee had already decided to cancel the rally before a government delegation approached them with a similar request.
During the meeting, Imran Khan also discussed his health, stating that his previously affected eye has shown significant improvement. He reportedly did not raise any concerns regarding prison facilities.
Salman Safdar briefed him on the ongoing appeal against the sentence in the £190 million reference, and legal consultations regarding pending cases were completed during the meeting.
