Police expand investigation and review CCTV footage as abduction concerns rise over missing constable in Lahore.
LAHORE: Police have launched an investigation after a female constable went missing from the Qila Gujjar Singh area under unclear circumstances, officials said on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Constable Ayesha left her home to report for duty but failed to reach her assigned police post. Her sudden absence raised alarm within the department, prompting immediate internal checks and reporting to senior officers.
Officials stated that the constable was posted at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh and was scheduled for duty from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. When she did not arrive on time, a search operation was initiated and nearby routes were examined for possible clues regarding her movement.
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from multiple locations to trace her last known whereabouts. Police teams have also been deployed to explore different angles, including the possibility of abduction or other foul play, as part of a broader inquiry into the incident.
An FIR has been registered on the complaint of the constable’s father under kidnapping charges. Police said statements from family members and colleagues are being recorded, while law enforcement agencies continue coordinated efforts to locate her safely. Senior officials have directed investigators to expedite the search and ensure all available resources are utilized in the case.
