Family Trip Turns Into Horror as Deadly Murree Van Fire Claims 10 Lives

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD: A family vacation to Murree turned into a devastating tragedy when a Hiace van carrying members of a single family plunged into a ravine and caught fire, killing 10 people and injuring 13 others.

According to initial reports, the Hiace van was traveling from Multan to Murree when it lost control while negotiating a turn and fell into a drainage channel. Moments after the vehicle crashed, a fire broke out, rapidly engulfing the van and trapping passengers inside.

Authorities said the vehicle landed on a side where its doors could not be opened, making escape extremely difficult for those trapped inside. The intense fire spread quickly, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and launched an emergency operation. Officials confirmed that the deceased and injured were transported to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad for medical treatment and identification procedures.

Motorway Police officials said all passengers belonged to the same family and were traveling from Multan for a leisure trip to Murree. The tragedy has shocked relatives and local residents alike.

Reports indicate that 10 children were among the passengers traveling in the van. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash and the subsequent fire.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in Pakistan’s mountainous regions, where sharp turns and difficult terrain often pose significant risks to motorists, especially during peak travel seasons.
