ISLAMABAD: A fresh controversy has emerged at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after a hospital employee released a video statement alleging mistreatment of his 12-year-old daughter and accusing a senior doctor of misconduct, claims that have yet to be independently verified.
According to Faisal Hussain, a resident of C-Type Colony and an employee at PIMS, his young daughter had gone to play in E-Type Colony when an incident allegedly occurred involving a security guard. Hussain claimed that the guard subjected the child to physical abuse and dragged her despite her cries for help.
In his video statement, Hussain further alleged that the doctor at the center of the dispute instructed security personnel to take harsh action against children from C-Type Colony and used derogatory language while referring to them. He described the alleged treatment of his daughter as inhumane and demanded accountability.
The PIMS employee also linked the matter to an ongoing workplace dispute, alleging that when concerns were raised, a harassment case was filed against Staff Welfare Association Chairman Qamar Gujjar. Hussain claimed the case was fabricated to divert attention from inquiries related to the incident and to protect those allegedly responsible.
Calling for a transparent investigation, Hussain said he would pursue all available legal and institutional avenues to seek justice for his daughter. He appealed to Pakistan’s state institutions, including the military leadership, the president, the prime minister and the judiciary, to take notice of the matter.
The allegations have generated discussion within hospital circles and among employees. However, no official response from the doctor concerned or PIMS administration was immediately available. Independent verification of the claims remains pending, and the matter may require a formal inquiry to establish the facts.
The incident highlights broader concerns regarding workplace disputes, child safety and accountability within public institutions. Observers say a transparent and impartial investigation will be essential to determine responsibility and ensure justice for all parties involved.
