Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stresses constitutional loyalty as tensions and concerns rise over developments in Azad Kashmir.
A strong political statement from Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has drawn attention to the situation in Azad Kashmir, where he warned that certain groups appear to be acting under what he described as an organized agenda.
In a post shared on social media platform X, the minister referred to some individuals in the region as being misguided and urged them to study the Constitution of Pakistan to better understand their responsibilities as citizens.
Khawaja Asif emphasized Article 5 of the Constitution, which requires unwavering loyalty to the state from every citizen. He stated that adherence to constitutional principles is essential in all circumstances and cannot be compromised.
He further added that meaningful dialogue and engagement can only begin when there is full commitment to the Constitution and the state. Without this foundation, he suggested, progress on any issue becomes difficult.
The remarks come amid heightened political sensitivity regarding developments in Azad Kashmir, with increasing attention on governance, civic behavior, and constitutional obligations. His statement is expected to fuel further debate in political and public circles over rights, responsibilities, and state authority.
