Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar inspected the ongoing construction of COMSATS University Islamabad’s permanent Abbottabad campus and emphasized timely completion of the project with high-quality standards.
COMSATS University Islamabad Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar visited the Abbottabad Campus to review progress on the construction of the institution’s permanent campus in Dhamtour, marking an important step toward expanding higher education infrastructure in the region.
During the visit, Abbottabad Campus Director Prof. Dr. Zakir Hussain briefed the rector on the project’s development, construction milestones, and upcoming phases. Dr. Qamar inspected various sections of the site and assessed both the pace and quality of the ongoing work. He directed the relevant authorities to ensure that construction is completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining the highest standards.
Following the site inspection, an important meeting was held at the Abbottabad Campus to discuss administrative, academic, and developmental matters. The session was attended by Registrar Dr. Faheem Qureshi, Treasurer Azam Khan, Controller of Examinations Dr. Sajjad Madni, Dean Dr. Shahid Khattak, In-Charge Planning and Development (P&D) Amir Yousafzai, and other senior officials.
Participants reviewed campus development initiatives, academic and research advancement, infrastructure improvements, and future strategic projects. Addressing the meeting, Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar highlighted the importance of effective coordination and collaboration among university departments, stressing that modern educational facilities and quality infrastructure remain among the university’s top priorities.
The rector praised the efforts of the Abbottabad Campus administration and the project team, expressing confidence that the permanent campus in Dhamtour will play a significant role in promoting higher education, research, and innovation across the region while providing students with world-class learning opportunities.
