Five Militants Killed in Deadly CTD Shootout Near Attock, What Security Forces Discovered Raises Alarm

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Punjab Counter Terrorism Department says five suspected militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation near Attock, while explosives, weapons, and a suicide vest were recovered.

A major counterterrorism operation near Attock resulted in the killing of five suspected militants after an intense exchange of fire between security personnel and armed extremists, according to Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The operation was launched in a border-area location near Attock following intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants. CTD officials said law enforcement teams moved in on the hideout, but the suspects opened fire, triggering a gun battle that ended with all five militants being killed.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the deceased militants were affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij and were allegedly involved in planning attacks across different parts of Punjab. Security officials believe the group had completed preparations for future terrorist activities before the operation disrupted their plans.

During the raid, authorities recovered explosive material, one suicide vest, three submachine guns (SMGs), two hand grenades, and a quantity of ammunition. The recovered weapons and explosives are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials said the identification process of the slain militants is still underway. Meanwhile, additional search operations have been launched in nearby border regions to locate any remaining accomplices and ensure the area is secure.
