Solar Prices Crash in Karachi After Budget Surprise Buyers Rush as Panels, Batteries and Inverters Get Cheaper

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Karachi’s solar market has witnessed a significant decline in prices after budget-related tax concerns eased, making solar panels, lithium batteries, and inverters more affordable for consumers.

Karachi’s solar market has experienced a notable price decline, bringing welcome relief to consumers planning to invest in renewable energy. Prices of solar panels, lithium batteries, and inverters have dropped significantly over the past few weeks after fears of new taxes failed to materialize in the federal budget.

According to market sources, lithium battery prices have fallen by nearly Rs20,000, while solar inverters are now selling for up to Rs10,000 less than before. Solar panels have also become more affordable, with prices decreasing by approximately Rs3,000 per panel.

Traders said uncertainty before the federal budget had triggered speculation that additional taxes could be imposed on solar products. Anticipating higher prices, some dealers increased rates, while others stockpiled inventory expecting larger profits.

However, after the government announced the budget without introducing any new taxes on solar systems, market confidence improved and prices began to decline. Dealers have since adjusted rates in response to changing market conditions.

Industry sources also attributed the price reduction to increased imports and ample product availability, which helped maintain a healthy balance between supply and demand. Slower consumer purchasing activity further contributed to the downward trend, prompting sellers to reduce prices in an effort to attract buyers.
