YouTube superstar MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has married South African content creator and gamer Thea Booysen in an intimate ceremony held at Richard Branson’s exclusive Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.
The private wedding was part of a week-long celebration that began on July 14, with around 70 close friends and family members attending the event on the 74-acre luxury island. The ceremony remained largely private until MrBeast shared photos from the special day on Instagram, writing, “I found MrsBeast. And it was the best day of my life.”
The couple exchanged vows in a ceremony officiated by a family friend who is an ordained minister. Their first dance was to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ hit song “Die With a Smile.” Following the reception and live music, guests continued celebrating with relaxed indoor activities, including card and board games—a detail Booysen humorously described as a fitting end to the evening.
MrBeast, 28, first met Booysen in 2022 during a visit to South Africa. Since then, the pair have kept much of their relationship out of the public eye while continuing to focus on their careers in online content creation. Their shared passion for gaming and digital media has been a defining aspect of their relationship.
The choice of Necker Island, owned by billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson, highlighted the couple’s preference for privacy. The exclusive island is well known for hosting luxury vacations, celebrity weddings, and high-profile events.
