AJK Election 2026: Polling Postponed in Muzaffarabad LA-27 After Heavy Rains and Landslides

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Heavy rainfall and landslides forced the Election Commission to postpone polling in Muzaffarabad’s LA-27 constituency, while voting continues as scheduled across the rest of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Muzaffarabad: The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has postponed polling in LA-27 Muzaffarabad-1 after heavy rainfall and landslides made it impossible to conduct voting safely.

According to the Election Commission, severe weather conditions blocked several key roads, preventing polling staff and election materials from reaching polling stations on time. Despite efforts by the district administration to restore access, major routes remained closed, making it impractical to proceed with polling in the constituency.

The Commission announced that a new polling date for LA-27 Muzaffarabad-1 will be issued at 2:00 p.m. today. Officials urged voters to remain patient and cooperate with the revised election schedule, while apologizing for the inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond their control.

The postponement applies only to LA-27 Muzaffarabad-1. Polling in all other constituencies across Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including the remaining seats in Muzaffarabad Division and refugee constituencies, is continuing according to the announced schedule under the supervision of election authorities.
