LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Lahore on Saturday for a two-day visit, during which he is expected to hold a series of political and private meetings.
The president will stay at Bilawal House during his visit to the provincial capital, according to sources familiar with his schedule.
Sources said Zardari is expected to meet political figures and party leaders during his stay. Discussions are likely to focus on party affairs, organisational matters and other issues of importance to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
The visit comes as the party continues consultations on its organisational structure and future political strategy. Zardari is expected to exchange views with party leaders on the current organisational situation and discuss the way forward.
The president’s engagements in Lahore are also expected to provide an opportunity for party leaders to review organisational priorities and coordinate on matters requiring attention at the political and party levels.
