Naqvi Makes Surprise NCCIA Visit, Raises Alarm Over Construction Delays

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered authorities to accelerate work on the under-construction NCCIA headquarters in Islamabad after finding construction moving at a slow pace.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered an immediate acceleration of construction work at the under-construction headquarters of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Islamabad after a surprise inspection revealed delays at the site.

Naqvi visited the project without prior notice and reviewed the progress of the ongoing development work. During the inspection, he questioned officials about the slow pace of construction and sought an explanation for the delays.

The minister was informed that only nine workers were currently deployed at the site and that construction activities had remained suspended for several days.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the situation, Naqvi contacted the relevant authorities during the visit and directed them to restart and accelerate the construction work without further delay.

He stressed that the NCCIA headquarters should be completed within the required timeframe and instructed officials to ensure consistent progress on the project.

The surprise inspection comes as the government works to strengthen the institutional framework for investigating cybercrime in Pakistan. The NCCIA is intended to play a central role in addressing cyber-related offences and improving the country’s capacity to investigate digital crimes.
