Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez reportedly celebrated their long-awaited marriage in a private family ceremony in Portugal, with a larger celebration planned.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have reportedly taken a major step in their long-running relationship, quietly marrying in an intimate ceremony at their home in Portugal before planning a much larger celebration with family and friends.
The couple reportedly tied the knot on Aug. 11 in Cascais, Portugal, marking 10 years since they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid in 2016. Rather than staging a lavish celebrity wedding, Ronaldo and Georgina chose a private ceremony attended by their children and a small circle of loved ones.
The intimate setting reportedly reflected Georgina’s changing view of marriage. In a recent interview with British fashion magazine Vogue, she explained that busy schedules contributed to the decision to keep the ceremony simple and private.
Georgina has previously described a childhood dream of a fairytale wedding complete with a palace, royal carriage, long bridal gown and diamond crown. Over the years, however, she said her priorities changed, with family and a peaceful celebration becoming more important than extravagance.
The couple also made a distinctive fashion choice for the occasion, reportedly wearing Gucci. Georgina chose a white silk skirt suit instead of a conventional wedding gown, while Ronaldo wore a light khaki suit. Their children were dressed in coordinated soft tones, creating a polished but understated family look.
The Gucci connection adds another meaningful layer to their story. Ronaldo and Georgina first met when she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid, an encounter that eventually developed into one of the most closely followed relationships in global sports and entertainment.
Following the ceremony, the couple reportedly travelled to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, where they paid their respects.
Despite the private nature of the marriage, the couple is reportedly planning a larger celebration that will allow relatives and close friends to join them. That event could attract significant international attention given Ronaldo’s global profile.
The wedding also comes as renewed attention surrounds Ronaldo’s football future. At 41, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has indicated that the 2026-27 season could potentially be the final campaign of his career, although he has not formally announced his retirement.
