ISLAMABAD: A fire broke out on the third floor of the MCH Ward at PIMS Hospital, leaving 14 children completely burned, according to the district administration.
Rescue teams reached the hospital immediately after receiving information about the blaze. Six fire brigade vehicles and four ambulances took part in the emergency response and relief operations.
The fire was brought under control promptly, while the affected children were shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for immediate medical attention, according to the district administration.
The administration said a committee headed by the additional deputy commissioner general has been formed to investigate the incident.
The inquiry committee will determine the cause of the fire and examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
