PM Shehbaz Sharif will attend the SCO and SCO Plus summits and hold bilateral meetings with regional leaders during his three-day visit to Kyrgyzstan.
LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Bishkek on Monday for a three-day visit to Kyrgyzstan, where he will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and present Pakistan’s position on regional and global issues.
During the visit, Shehbaz will also participate in the SCO Plus summit, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The prime minister is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games as the chief guest.
Shehbaz is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries participating in the SCO summit. Discussions during these meetings will cover bilateral relations, trade and investment, regional cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
As part of his visit, the prime minister will hold a bilateral meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. The two leaders will review all aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The visit will also provide an opportunity for discussions on expanding cooperation in trade and investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
Federal ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister on the visit.
