Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to work toward increasing bilateral trade to $200 million, while Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov personally drove Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Manas International Airport in Bishkek at the end of his official visit.
According to journalist Anas Mallick’s post on X, the two countries signed an agreement at Manas Airport aimed at expanding bilateral trade to $200 million in the coming years.

The agreement marks a push to deepen economic ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has previously expressed Pakistan’s commitment to increasing bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan to $200 million.
The airport departure also drew attention because of an unusual gesture by President Japarov. Mallick reported that the Kyrgyz president himself drove Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the airport.
Shehbaz Sharif was on a three-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at the invitation of President Japarov. The visit included participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State meeting and bilateral engagements.
Pakistan has been seeking stronger economic and trade links with Central Asian countries, particularly by offering landlocked states access to regional and international markets through Pakistani ports.
The $200 million trade target was also highlighted during earlier Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan engagements, when the two sides discussed expanding commercial ties from their existing level of roughly $15 million to $200 million.
