Police recovered the infant’s body from a rainwater drain in Gohra village and detained both parents as the investigation continues.
According to police, a two-month-old baby died after his mother allegedly threw him into a rainwater drain in Gohra village of Union Council Masiari in Murree.
Murree District Police Officer said a case has been registered and police recovered the infant’s body from the drain. Both parents were taken into custody as investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
During the initial investigation, the mother reportedly told police that she already had six children and could not afford to raise another child.
The case has sparked public concern over the death of an infant and the circumstances faced by families struggling to care for children.
