NOWSHERA: Health and municipal teams continued preventive activities against chikungunya in villages of PK-87 Nowshera on Saturday on the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Khaliqur Rehman.
The anti-chikungunya activities were carried out in Ziarat Kaka Sahib and Spin Kani, where health officials and TMA Nowshera spray staff conducted insecticide residual spraying (IRS) at various locations.
Under the supervision of health staff member Hassan Ali, teams visited homes and surrounding areas to carry out spraying and raise public awareness about chikungunya and other mosquito-borne diseases.
The teams also inspected containers and other places holding stagnant water around homes for dengue larvae. Residents were advised to maintain cleanliness, immediately remove standing water and keep potential mosquito breeding sites clean.
The health department and TMA Nowshera teams remain active in the field as part of ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of chikungunya in the area, following directives from Health Minister Khaliqur Rehman.
Officials urged residents to cooperate with field teams and take preventive measures to reduce mosquito breeding and the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
