Sabrina Carpenter celebrated her first Emmy after The Muppet Show won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Sabrina Carpenter has added an Emmy Award to her growing collection of accolades, winning her first Emmy for her work on The Muppet Show.
The singer and actress was among the producers recognized when The Muppet Show won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) at the first night of the 78th Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 5. Carpenter served as an executive producer on the Disney+ special, in addition to appearing in it.
Following the ceremony, Carpenter celebrated the achievement on Instagram Stories and praised the wider team behind the production.
“Thank you @televisionacad,” Carpenter wrote. “So incredibly proud of the whole Muppets crew on our Emmy wins!!!!! A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special.”
Her message focused on the collective effort behind the special rather than solely on her own achievement, highlighting the work of the cast and crew.
The Muppet Show secured four Emmy Awards during the first night of the Creative Arts ceremony. Along with Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), it won for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.
The victory marks another significant milestone for Carpenter, who has established herself in both music and television. She previously won two Grammy Awards in 2025 for “Espresso” and Short n’ Sweet, making her latest Emmy win another major addition to her awards résumé.
The special, which premiered on Disney+ earlier this year, features Carpenter alongside the iconic Muppet characters. The original The Muppet Show, created by Jim Henson, premiered in 1976 and became an international television phenomenon. The series ran for five seasons and was known for combining comedy, music and celebrity guest appearances.
The new special arrived as the franchise marked its 50th anniversary and has renewed interest in the Muppets among longtime viewers and newer audiences. The special also earned strong recognition from Emmy voters, winning four awards on the first night of the Creative Arts ceremony.
For Carpenter, the Emmy adds another dimension to an increasingly diverse entertainment career. Her recognition as an executive producer also underscores her expanding role beyond performing.
