Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered condolences to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over the death of his elder brother during a telephone conversation on Oct. 1.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday and conveyed his condolences over the death of Anwar’s elder brother.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Anwar Ibrahim in a “warm and most cordial” conversation during the afternoon.
The prime minister offered prayers for the departed soul and expressed his wishes for strength for Anwar Ibrahim and his family members as they cope with the loss.
The Malaysian prime minister thanked Shehbaz Sharif for sharing his sadness over the death of his brother and conveyed his good wishes in return, according to the PMO.
During the conversation, the two leaders also reiterated their shared resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Malaysia, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation.
