Pakistan Secures Additional 70,000 Metric Tons of Rice Exports to Malaysia

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistan will export an additional 70,000 metric tons of rice to Malaysia from October to December 2026 following diplomatic and trade efforts.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will export an additional 70,000 metric tons of rice to Malaysia from October to December 2026 following efforts by relevant ministries and authorities under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directions, the Prime Minister’s Office said Friday.

The Prime Minister’s Office said the additional rice exports were secured through effective diplomatic and trade efforts and described the development as an important step for Pakistani farmers and the national economy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the efforts of the team involved in securing the additional export opportunity and acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the minister for national food security, the minister for commerce, and the secretaries of commerce and national food security.

The prime minister said the additional export of 70,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice would contribute to farmers’ prosperity and support the country’s economy.

He said expanding access to international markets for Pakistani agricultural commodities remained a key government priority.

The prime minister also directed the relevant ministries and authorities to continue efforts to expand Pakistan’s agricultural exports and strengthen access to overseas markets.

“Through continued hard work, we will continue our journey toward export-led economic growth,” the prime minister said, according to the PMO statement.

The development comes as Pakistan seeks to expand agricultural exports and improve access for its produce in international markets. The PMO statement did not provide details on the monetary value, specific rice varieties or individual exporters involved in the additional Malaysian shipments.

The government said the additional export opportunity resulted from coordinated efforts by the relevant ministries and authorities in line with the prime minister’s instructions.
