Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephones Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to offer condolences on the death of his sister.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to offer condolences on the death of his sister, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the conversation, the prime minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Araghchi over the bereavement and expressed his deepest sympathies to the Iranian foreign minister and his family during this difficult time.
Shehbaz Sharif also offered prayers for the departed soul, asking Allah Almighty to grant her eternal peace and give strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation was held on Oct. 2, 2026, in Lahore. The prime minister expressed solidarity with Araghchi and his family as they mourned the death of their loved one.
In response, Araghchi thanked the prime minister for his kind and thoughtful gesture. He also expressed appreciation for Shehbaz Sharif’s condolences and for sharing in his grief during the difficult period.
The telephone conversation focused on conveying sympathy and support to the Iranian foreign minister following the death of his sister.
