Rawalpindi ADC Seeks Legal Action Against Husband Over Alleged Domestic Violence

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

RAWALPINDI: A case has been registered against the husband of Rawalpindi Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Maliha Sehar after she filed a complaint alleging physical and psychological domestic violence, threats and unlawful confinement.

The case was registered at the Women Police Station in Rawalpindi on the ADC’s complaint. Police said her husband, identified as Javed Ali, was arrested and presented before a court, which sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand.

According to the complaint and first information report (FIR), Maliha Sehar, a mother of two, alleged that she had been facing domestic violence for several months. She alleged that her husband physically and psychologically abused her and issued threats against her.

The FIR states that on the evening of Oct. 2, Javed Ali allegedly assaulted Sehar, took away her mobile phone and confined her to a room for several hours.

She further alleged that she was prevented from contacting her family, meeting her children and seeking assistance from police. She also alleged that her husband threatened to kill her and harm their children.

Sehar told police that she feared for her life and physical safety. In her application, she requested legal action, a medical examination and preservation of evidence of the alleged injuries to her body.
