The Islamabad High Court adjourns the petition hearing until Nov. 23, while a separate case linked to PTI’s 2014 sit-in is postponed until Nov. 25.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf interim chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan additional time to submit a written response to a petition seeking a ban on party founder Imran Khan’s official X account, adjourning the hearing until Nov. 23.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Ghulam Murtaza, with Barrister Gohar appearing in person before the court.

During the proceedings, the court observed that the PTI leader could have submitted his written response earlier. Barrister Gohar, however, told the court that the party did not claim ownership of the X account at the center of the petition.

He requested additional time to file a detailed reply, citing a change in circumstances. The court accepted his request and postponed further proceedings until Nov. 23.

The petition seeks a ban on Imran Khan’s official X account. The hearing was adjourned to allow Barrister Gohar more time to respond to the matter.

Separate proceedings in 2014 sit-in cases

In a separate development, Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi issued arrest warrants for accused individuals who failed to appear in cases related to the 2014 sit-in involving Imran Khan and other PTI leaders.

Imran Khan could not be presented before the court because he remains imprisoned at Adiala Jail.

The magistrate adjourned the proceedings until Nov. 25 and directed that evidence be presented at the next hearing.

The two developments concern separate judicial proceedings: the IHC petition seeking a ban on Imran Khan’s official X account and the cases linked to the 2014 sit-in.

No final decision on the X account petition was reported in the provided information, and the IHC hearing remains scheduled for Nov. 23.
