IHC Confirms Three Judges as Permanent After Adhoc Tenure

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD (Yaseen Hashmi): Three judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) took oath as permanent judges on Monday, marking the confirmation of their appointments after serving in an adhoc capacity for over a year.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar. Justice Muhammad Asif, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas were sworn in during the ceremony held at the high court premises.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar attended the event, along with judges of the Islamabad High Court and the district judiciary. Office-bearers of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, including President Wajid Gilani and Secretary Manzoor Jajja, were also present.

According to officials, the three judges had been performing judicial duties as adhoc judges for the past one to one-and-a-half years. Their confirmation as permanent judges follows the completion of constitutional and administrative requirements.

Legal experts say the appointments are expected to strengthen the functioning of the Islamabad High Court and help reduce the backlog of cases. The move has been welcomed by the legal fraternity, which views judicial continuity as essential for the effective administration of justice.
