Rahim Yar Khan: In a major development, two notorious dacoit leaders operating in the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan have surrendered to law enforcement authorities, ending years of criminal activities in the region. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Samoon, the two gang leaders, identified as Qabil Sukhani and Morzada Dashti, voluntarily handed themselves over to the police.
Both dacoits were among the most wanted criminals in South Punjab and had gained significant notoriety on social media due to their criminal operations. The Government of Punjab had announced a bounty of Rs 1 crore each on their heads, amounting to a total reward of Rs 2 crore, DPO Irfan Samoon confirmed.
The surrender took place in the presence of the DPO, where the accused formally laid down their weapons and pledged to abandon the path of crime. Police officials termed the surrender a major success in restoring peace in the crime-prone Katcha belt.
Speaking on the occasion, the surrendered dacoits stated that they wish to leave behind their criminal past and lead a respectable and peaceful life within society. Law enforcement authorities believe this development will significantly reduce criminal activity in the region and encourage other offenders to surrender.
