Dera Ismail Khan: (Roshan Khan) Unknown assailants set fire to a petrol pump owned by the Wana Welfare Association (WAWA), a charitable organization working for the education and welfare of orphan children, on Tank Road in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to details, the attackers arrived at the petrol station late at night, tied up the staff with ropes, and then set the facility ablaze before fleeing the scene. The intensity of the fire was so severe that the petrol pump was completely engulfed in flames, causing extensive damage to the property.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information and initiated firefighting operations. Efforts to control the blaze continued for several hours to prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
The WAWA petrol pump was established solely to generate funds for the education of orphan children, particularly from Waziristan. The profits from the petrol station were neither for private gain nor government benefit but were dedicated entirely to supporting the educational needs of orphans.
The incident has sparked strong condemnation from the local community and residents of Waziristan, who have demanded strict action against those responsible. They have also urged the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take notice of the incident and ensure justice.
Local police have launched an investigation and are conducting raids to arrest the perpetrators.
