Islamabad: (Yaseen Hashmi) Police in Pakistan’s capital on Tuesday detained senior lawyer Iman Mazari and Hadi Chattha, triggering issue amongst criminal circles and elevating questions over the situations of the arrests.

In line with police officials, Mazari and Chattha have been taken into custody close to the underpass outdoor the Serena hotel area of Islamabad. the two were reportedly traveling with office-bearers of the Islamabad high court Bar association and other lawyers on their way to the district courts when police intervened and detained them.

Authorities have no longer yet disclosed the grounds for the arrests, and no formal charges were immediately announced. Police officials declined to comment on whether or not the detentions have been linked to any ongoing investigation or particular complaint.
