PESHAWAR:(Roshan khan Wazir )- Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Muhammad Sohail Afridi, chaired an important meeting on signature road sector projects at the CM House, Peshawar.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of ongoing and proposed mega projects in the province and discussed the future course of action. Matters related to the Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, Dir Motorway, and Swat Expressway Phase Two were discussed in detail.
The Chief Minister directed that the Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway will be constructed through provincial resources further directing the relevant departments to complete all technical, administrative, and financial requirements for the project by February 10. He also directed that the motorway be developed as a green motorway in line with modern standards to ensure environmental protection.
It was further decided that civil works on Swat Expressway Phase Two will commence from January 31.
The Chief Minister stated that the construction of motorways is among the signature projects of the provincial government and that progress on these projects must be ensured in accordance with the stipulated timelines. He emphasized that there is no room for delay in the implementation of these projects and that he will personally monitor their progress.
The Chief Minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will provide all necessary resources on a priority basis for public welfare projects and that legislation will be enacted to safeguard the construction and completion of mega projects.
He stressed that regardless of which political party is in government, public interest projects should be completed without delay. He further stated that the provincial government is laying down a comprehensive network of roads and motorways to promote business, employment, and trade in the province.
