Rawalpindi:(Syed Yaseen Hashmi)- Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Sunday.
According to ISPR, the operation was carried out after credible intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan, described by the military as an Indian-backed group operating in the region.
Security personnel located the terrorist hideout and engaged the militants, resulting in an exchange of fire during which three terrorists were killed. The deceased were identified as local commander Farooq, also known as Soro, along with Adeel and Waseem. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site, and the militants were said to be involved in multiple attacks in the area.
ISPR said search and clearance operations are ongoing to ensure the complete elimination of terrorist elements from the region. The military added that counterterrorism efforts will continue under the national security campaign Azm-e-Istehkam, approved under the National Action Plan.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation, reaffirming the nation’s support for the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the forces, saying terrorists would find no refuge anywhere in Pakistan.
