Khyber:(Roshan Khan Wazir ) The district administration Khyber on Sundday set up new registration centres in Bara for internally displaced persons (IDPs) belonging to Tirah valley. The registration process is underway in an organized, transparent and dignified manner. The centres were established on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
According to the district administration, a total of three registration centres, including Painda Cheena, Badshah Khan Killay, Takia Markaz and Shalobar Qambarabad have been established in Bara. Additional Deputy Commissioner Ihsanullah, assistant commissioners of Bara and Jamrud, along with other district officers were present at the centres to facilitate the displaced families.
Separate counters were set up at the registration centres for different tribes to ensure smooth processing.All centres are fully functional, with staff from various district departments, tribal elders, Nadra, banks and cellular companies deployed to assist IDPs. The registration process was being carried out after verification through polio vaccination records and confirmation by tribal elders, followed by completion of other required formalities. All basic facilities are being provided at Painda Cheena and other centres.
An official said the district administration had stated that the supply of food items, medicines and other essential commodities was being ensured across all areas of Tirah valley. Meanwhile, clearance operations were ongoing in Tirah. Deputy Commissioner Khyber, Captain (R) Bilal Shahid Rao, along with other administrative officers were present in the area to supervise the operation.
The other departments, including Communication & Work Highways, Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Rescue 1122 and other institutions, took part in the clearance operation, which will continue till the complete clearance of the route.
In view of the prevailing Snow fall weather conditions, residents of the Maidan area of Tirah Valley were advised to avoid travel for the time being.
