An Accountability Court has ordered the seizure of the Mall of Islamabad in a major development following a complaint filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The court also issued arrest warrants for prominent business tycoon Malik Riaz, along with Bina Riaz, Ahmed Riaz, and three other individuals in connection with the case.
During the hearing, NAB prosecutors Manzoor Shah and Hina Ashraf submitted a detailed investigation report prepared by the investigating officer. The report stated that a formal complaint was filed after the completion of comprehensive inquiries into the matter. NAB Investigation Officer Muhammad Ramzan informed the court that action against the accused was initiated after a thorough review of evidence and official records.
The court also directed three of the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs. 500,000 each, while ordering the implementation of arrest warrants against the remaining suspects. Following the court’s instructions, the Mall of Islamabad was taken into custody and confiscated in favor of the state. An official notification regarding the seizure has been issued to the relevant authorities.
According to NAB officials, the action was taken over allegations of financial irregularities and suspected losses to the national exchequer. The court clarified that all accused individuals would be given full opportunity to defend themselves under the law, while stressing that compliance with court orders would be strictly enforced. Further proceedings in the case are expected in the coming days.
