Overseas Pakistanis can now buy, sell, and transfer their vehicles more easily and securely. The government has introduced a new feature in the Pak ID app, allowing vehicle registration and transfers to be completed through biometric verification.
DG Excise, Umar Sher Chattha, announced after a meeting with NADRA CEO Umar Khan Azad that users can now complete vehicle transfers using the vehicle number, chassis number, and owner’s name through biometric verification. Previously, overseas Pakistanis had to obtain an attested authority letter from embassies for vehicle transfers, a process that was time-consuming and complicated.
With the Pak ID app, the process will not only be easier but also reduce the chances of fraudulent transfers. Integration between Excise and NADRA systems now enables overseas Pakistanis to legally transfer their vehicles without any obstacles.
This facility will become operational from Friday, and the process of vehicle re-registration will also begin in other provinces. This step is expected to make the process smoother for overseas Pakistanis while strengthening the legal and transparent record of vehicles in the country.
