Sargodha: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in Sargodha has continued its “Farm to Plate” mission by taking strict action against unsafe farming practices, destroying a five-acre crop for violating health regulations.
The authority targeted a vegetable farm in Shalimar Town, where radish, spinach, and mustard greens were being cultivated using sewage water. Officials attached a tractor to the crops and uprooted the entire five-acre field.
Using sewage-contaminated water for farming poses serious health risks, as it can lead to the spread of multiple diseases. The cultivation of crops with untreated or contaminated water is strictly prohibited across the province under current regulations.
The Punjab Food Authority urged citizens to report any such violations by calling 1223.
