KARACHI: (Click Pakistan) China has renewed its promise to share the benefits of its economic expansion with Pakistan and deepen bilateral collaboration in time to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations in 2026.
The remarks were made by the Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong when he was addressing a Chinese New Year media reception at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. He added that both countries needed to collaborate with fresh vigor and tireless efforts and likened the alliance to a galloping horse.
Yang pointed out the visit of the DeputyPrime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar of Pakistan to China between Jan. 3 and Jan.5 at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi. In 2026, Ishaq Dar became the first foreign leader to visit China, with the other leadership of the seventh China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers Strategic Dialogue.
Through the discussions, both parties were able to agree on the need to improve on strategic communication, strengthen mutual trust, protect common interests and advance economic and social growth. They also reaffirmed the support on peace, development and regional prosperity.
Both countries welcomed the third-party intervention in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and promised to come up with a revamped CPEC 2.0. The industry, agriculture and mining, Gwadar Port development, the smooth operation of Karakoram Highway, and the enhancement of the sustainable development capability of Pakistan are priority sectors.
Yang termed the connection as a unique and top priority and termed the China-Pakistan friendship as strong and permanent despite the world changes.
