SARGODHA (Tahir Kamboh): Under the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, efforts to improve sanitation and drainage systems across the province are continuing under the Suthra Punjab Program. As part of this initiative, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Sargodha Waste Management Company (SWMC) jointly organized an awareness march-past in Sargodha to educate the public about cleanliness and civic responsibility.
The march-past was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Fahad Mahmood and ADC General Rana Abu Bakar. CEO SWMC Rana Shahid Imran, MD WASA Rana Abu Bakar, along with field, monitoring, and operational staff of both departments, also participated in the event.
Sanitation vehicles, including large dumper trucks, waste collection vehicles, and other machinery, were part of the march. The staff demonstrated practical cleanliness measures to raise public awareness.
The march started from Mela Mandi Ground and passed through Kachehri Road, University Road, and other major routes before concluding at the designated point. Citizens appreciated the organized display highlighting the importance of cleanliness.
Addressing the participants, ADC Revenue Fahad Mahmood said that sanitation initiatives are being implemented across Punjab under the Suthra Punjab Program, and the march in Sargodha was part of the same effort. He urged citizens to report open manholes or garbage to WASA’s helpline 1334 and to share suggestions and complaints with relevant departments for timely action.
