Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:(Anwer Zeb Khan)- Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers to remain patient, assuring them that PTI founder Imran Khan will soon be released.
Addressing party workers in Swabi, Afridi praised their enthusiasm, stating that the energy he witnessed among supporters had never been seen before.
Afridi claimed that Khan’s health issues had been deliberately concealed from the party, lawyers, and even his family, while access to his personal doctors was denied. He alleged that Khan underwent an operation late at night, which was kept hidden from the nation for five days, with misinformation spread to the public.
The Chief Minister assured workers that only a short distance remained between their efforts and their leader, urging patience and faith. “Just a little more wait, God willing, we will secure the release of our leader,” Afridi said.
He also criticized authorities for refusing to allow Khan’s family and personal physicians to meet him, emphasizing the importance of transparency regarding the former Prime Minister’s health.
Afridi’s statements come amid mounting pressure and street movements demanding Khan’s release.
