NOWSHERA: (Anwarzeb Khan) Police in Nowshera have been carrying out extensive search operations and targeted operations in the district as per special instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Ahmed Shah, the police officials said on Sunday.
These works were being conducted under the strict observation of respective SDPOs and were personally headed by station house officers (SHOs) of respective police stations. The intention of the campaign was to reduce crime and get rid of illegal weapons and manage narcotics trafficking in the district.
In the process, police searched 358 motorcycles and significantly searched 342 houses in different localities. Consequently, eight proclaimed offenders and criminals which were considered to be dangerous were caught.
Illegal weapons were also seized, 18 pistols, and five Kalashnikov rifles were seized and taken into custody by the police.
During a simultaneous raid on drug traffickers, law enforcement agencies had confiscated 15 kilograms and 465 grams of hashish and 876 grams of crystal meth (ice). All the suspects that have been arrested have been registered and investigations are being carried out.
DPO Ahmed Shah asserted that the district police is determined to maintain law and order, eliminate criminal groups and guard the lives and property of the citizens. He noted that search and targeted operations would be sustained without discrimination, and on a long-term basis with the aim of ensuring peace and security within the district.
