KP Governor Slams SHO’s Statement as Misuse of Power

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has strongly criticised a statement made by SHO Abdul Ali Khan, stating that no police officer has the authority to pass judgments on the character, choices, or personal lives of citizens, especially women.

Commenting on the matter, the governor said that such remarks do not fall under the definition of policing and instead reflect a clear misuse of official powers. “The job of the police is to protect citizens, not to morally police them,” he said.

Faisal Karim Kundi emphasised that any officer who humiliates, insults, or attempts to shame citizens is unfit to hold a public office. He warned that this mindset must not be tolerated under any circumstances.

“This is not law enforcement; it is an abuse of authority,” the governor stated, adding that public servants must uphold dignity, respect, and constitutional rights of all individuals.

He further stressed that women, in particular, should not be subjected to discriminatory attitudes or moral judgments by law enforcement officials. The governor called for strict accountability and zero tolerance against such behaviour within the police force.
