KARACHI: (Yaseen Hashmi) Pakistan Super League (PSL) has become the country’s biggest sports brand, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which reported a 149% increase in the value of its international media rights.
The PCB has decided not to sell PSL media rights to Indian companies, yet the league’s popularity and brand value continue to grow at a record pace. The board credited the league’s rising global profile, successful franchises, and growing fan engagement for the surge in value.
PSL 2026 is scheduled to take place from March 11 through May across multiple cities, including Karachi and Lahore. This year, the tournament will feature eight teams, marking an expansion in participation.
“PSL’s growth demonstrates the increasing commercial and international appeal of Pakistani cricket,” a PCB official said. “The league is now recognized as a major sports property in the region, attracting top talent and sponsorships.”
The PSL has consistently set new benchmarks for sports entertainment in Pakistan, with fan interest, media coverage, and sponsorship revenues reaching unprecedented levels.
