Peshawar: A high-level meeting to review the overall security situation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held at Corps Headquarters Peshawar. The meeting was attended by the Federal Interior Minister, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the National Security Adviser, the Corps Commander Peshawar, and other senior civil and military officials.
During the meeting, participants paid tribute to civilians and personnel of security agencies who were martyred in recent terrorist incidents. The forum reviewed ongoing security challenges and discussed coordinated measures to ensure peace and stability across the province.
One of the key decisions taken during the meeting was to hold Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Peshawar later this year, reflecting confidence in the improving security environment of the provincial capital.
The meeting also decided to immediately implement a provincial governance model in the Malakand Division under the supervision of the provincial police and other provincial institutions. After successful implementation, the same model will be introduced in a phased manner in other affected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram.
Additionally, it was decided to establish a special sub-committee headed by the Chief Minister to ensure effective monitoring of development projects in these districts and to review any ongoing or future security operations.
