Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak paid a surprise visit to the Tehsil Office Raja Bazaar and reviewed the standard of public service in the revenue departments. The Commissioner inspected various sections, met citizens, listened to their issues, and gathered information about the facilities being provided.
The Commissioner stated that serving the public is the primary responsibility of government officers and staff, and offices must be made truly citizen-friendly to restore and strengthen public trust. He directed strict compliance with record accuracy, transparency, and merit, and instructed that applications and files should not be delayed unnecessarily. Every case must be resolved within the prescribed timeline.
He further instructed staff to treat citizens with courtesy and respect, resolve their matters promptly, and ensure that no one faces unnecessary waiting or inconvenience. He emphasized ensuring cleanliness in public offices, proper seating arrangements, an active guidance/help desk, special facilities for elderly people and women, and an effective system for immediate complaint resolution.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue was also directed to maintain a tracking record of all cases and identify officials responsible for delays to further improve the quality of public service delivery.
