Islamabad: The government has decided to transfer former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail, according to Mohsin Naqvi. He stated that since Khan’s sentence was delivered by an Islamabad court, he will be moved to the Islamabad facility.
Speaking at the passing-out ceremony of Islamabad police officers, Naqvi highlighted the importance of the day for federal police. He said that a dedicated counter-terrorism force was not available previously, but a six-month course was launched three months ago and completed in an accelerated schedule. He praised the officers who trained the new recruits and noted that Islamabad’s training schools are being upgraded, with personnel from outside the city also coming for training.
Regarding Imran Khan, Naqvi stated that once the Islamabad jail is fully operational, Khan will be transferred there. The jail is expected to be completed within two months and will be equipped with full medical facilities. He reiterated that the transfer aligns with the fact that Khan’s sentence was handed down by an Islamabad court.
