Lahore: In a significant legal development, the main accused in the high-profile murder of Arif Ameer, popularly known as Tepo Truckan Wala, has been acquitted by the court.
The accused, Khurram Ejaz, had previously been convicted and sentenced to two death penalties along with life imprisonment for the 2010 killing. The case had drawn widespread attention due to the brazen nature of the attack.
According to case records, Arif Ameer was shot dead in December 2010 at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Prosecutors had argued that the murder stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Despite earlier convictions and severe sentences, the latest court ruling has overturned the decision, leading to Ejaz’s acquittal. The verdict marks a dramatic turn in one of the city’s most talked-about criminal cases.
