PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur emphasizes political leverage and accurate health updates for party founder Imran Khan
Islamabad: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, praised Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for his efforts to secure the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and ease political tensions.
Speaking to the media, Gandapur said that the government’s negotiation committee, formed to discuss Khan’s release, was created due to Naqvi’s consistent efforts. He highlighted that leaders across political parties agreed that no retaliatory measures should be taken and emphasized the importance of freeing the PTI founder.
Gandapur reiterated that PTI’s protest campaign would continue until authorities address concerns regarding Khan’s health, stressing that the sit-in will remain until proper assurances are provided. He criticized federal and provincial political strategies, calling the party’s pressure insufficient to secure results.
Reflecting on his tenure as KP Chief Minister, Gandapur noted the significance of political leverage, adding, “The strong are heard; the weak must accept decisions.” He also urged that Khan be treated by doctors of his choice and warned against misinformation and restricted access worsening the situation.
Gandapur concluded by emphasizing that Imran Khan, as party leader, must have all decisions respected, and uncontrolled narratives could have serious consequences in the future.
