ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced temporary changes to the operating hours of its reservation offices during the holy month of Ramadan. According to an official spokesperson the revised schedule will come into effect from Thursday.
Under the new timings reservation offices will open at 7:30 AM and remain operational until 5:30 PM. On Fridays a dedicated break from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM will be observed to allow staff and passengers to perform prayers.
The spokesperson clarified that single shift reservation offices will not experience any changes in their working hours during Ramadan. This adjustment aims to accommodate the religious practices of employees and passengers while ensuring that essential railway services continue without disruption.
This announcement follows similar notifications issued by federal authorities regarding adjusted office hours for various government departments during Ramadan. Passengers are advised to plan their bookings accordingly particularly on Fridays when the temporary closure may affect service timings.
Pakistan Railways emphasized that these changes are temporary and will revert to regular schedules after the conclusion of Ramadan. The rail authority also urged travelers to remain updated through official announcements to avoid inconvenience during the holy month.
