PSB Rejects PHF Allegations Over Pro League Funding

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has rejected allegations by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) stating that documentary evidence confirms it fulfilled all financial obligations for the national team’s participation in the FIH Pro League Season 7 Phase 2 in Hobart.

In an official statement the PSB described the claims as misleading and inconsistent with the record attributing administrative and operational shortcomings to the federation. The board said the team’s departure initially scheduled for February 2, 2026 was delayed due to visa applications submitted by the PHF containing incorrect information. Following PSB intervention through diplomatic channels the team departed on February 5.

According to the PSB it paid Rs 27.1 million for air tickets and an additional Rs 9.7 million to cover expenses arising from visa related complications. At the federation’s request an advance of 49,280 Australian dollars was released for accommodation at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hobart. Player allowances and miscellaneous expenses were also issued in advance.

The PSB emphasized that under the national sports governance framework it provides financial support and oversight while logistics and operational arrangements remain the federation’s responsibility reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability.
