China Removes Senior PLA Generals from National Legislature

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Chinese lawmakers have removed several senior military figures from the National People’s Congress (NPC) according to an official statement. Among those dismissed were Li Qiaoming former commander of the People’s Liberation Army Ground Force and Shen Jinlong, former PLA Navy commander.

The statement also confirmed the removal of political commissars Qing Shengxiang Yu Zhongfu and Li Wei linked to the Navy Air Force and Information Support Force. Additionally several other officers and regional officials including Sun Shaocheng were stripped of their NPC memberships.

Separately CCTV reported that Yi Huiman was removed as chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). The leadership change came amid Beijing’s concerns over market instability in Shanghai and Hong Kong where prolonged sell offs have erased significant market value.

Reports suggested that President Xi Jinping was expected to meet regulators to discuss stabilization efforts. Yi previously associated with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China had led the CSRC since 2019 succeeding Liu Shiyu.

The developments come as China faces economic pressures, including weak consumption, property sector challenges and slower growth prompting authorities to consider further policy measures.
